Girl Power is ON! Spice girls is ready to concur the world again. The Spice Girls are planning a musical with an original story based on their hit songs, Reuters reports. The working title is “Viva Forever,” after the 1998 British No. 1 single by the sensationalize group who happened to be the last track released before their split up. This Idea is so fabulous and may appeal the Gay people specially the Millennial generation who’d been passionate with the said group. Broadway Musical is part of the Gay culture. A combination of this two will surely hit the stage.

The “Viva Forever” creators are the band’s former manager Simon Fuller and Judy Craymer, who produced the worldwide hit musical “Mamma Mia!” which featured the songs of the Swedish band Abba, and later became a movie starring Meryl Streep. “Mamma Mia!” has made $2 billion in the past decade. Not only Mama Mia hit the stage but also “The Jersey Boys” which base on the 60’s boy band “The Four Seasons” life story and the Gay Oriented Musical “The Boy from Oz” is a jukebox musical based on the life of singer/songwriter Peter Allen and featuring songs written by him.

The Spice Girls show could debut on the London stage in two or three years, Mr. Fuller and Ms. Craymer said. he also said that the musical would be “a unique celebration of the band and its music, with its own flavour and joyful message. It is important for him that the excitement, style and humour of The Spice Girls is well represented on stage.” The Spice Girls — Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice or Mel C), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice); Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) sex appeal, catchy tunes and “girl power” philosophy made them a pop music phenomenon after the release of their first single “Wannabe” in 1996. The group split up in 2000, but came together for a successful reunion tour in 2007.

I hope this project will not be a noir just like what happened to the Spice Girls Movie. I wish the creative group to be ingenious to appeal all kinds of audiences.
