Filipino People have something new to be proud of. Again, Filipino artistry in terms of movie was noticed in the international scene. The Blockbuster movie “Sigaw” will have its English adaptation.

The Hollywood version of “Sigaw” (Shout) is produced by Roy Lee, the producer behind the American remakes of numerous Asian horror movies like The Grudge, The Ring, The Eye, Shutter, and Dark Water and the Oscar-winning action movie the Departed.

“The Echo” is based on Laranas’ previous thriller film. the award-winning Sigaw which starred Iza Calzado, Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin. The original title was change into “The Echo”. Iza Calzado reprised her original role as the beleaguered housewife who is the victim of domestic abuse. Fear and paranoia leach from every wall in this creepy psychological thriller.

This is the directorial debut in the Hollywood of Filipino director William “Yam” Laranas, who originally directed “Sigaw”.

“The Echo” will have its special premiere screening on September 29, 2009 at the Cinema 1 of Gaisano Mall in Davao. And soon to be across the country’s cinemas.
