This is a good time for humble reflection that may lead to repentance. Who did not sin? Paul, God’s mighty servant and writer of most of the New Testament, in his greater knowledge of God, confessed that he was the “worst of sinners”.

Be Holy for God is Holy. We know from the Word that the way to attain this is a lifestyle of repentance and faith. Without Holiness we cannot enjoy God’s company, His voice and leading. With sinfulness we tend to go by sight–we focus on ourselves, our abilities, and our plans and ways. With humility and repentance we submit to the Holy Spirit and move by the Spirit.

If we humble ourselves before God in this occasion a new season of healing, faith, and power may just emerge and rise up from these ashes of chaos and division. God is good. His Word definitely accomplished His purpose. His Spirit is Love and Compassion. What do you have in your heart? Love and compassion or scorn?

Dear God, give us your wisdom in choosing the right leader of our beloved country Philippines. Help us to be instrument of peace in this coming election. Enlighten everyone and give us your spirit of love and compassion as we obey your plans in this government. We prayed to you to bless us with a Leader who follows your will with holiness and has the spirit of LOVE and COMPASSION. Amen.
